One of the reviews of this book (printed on the back) says, ‘everyone I’ve ever shown this to immediately wanted it.’ I saw it at friends in Israel and bought one on a recent trip. In just over 700 pages, it provides the correct terminology for thousands of objects in Hebrew and English. Each page consists of one or several line drawings of items, some common, some encountered in only certain technical settings. Each part of the object is marked and then identified in Hebrew and English. The subject matter is very broad, covering anything one can image, from weaponry to herbs, equestrian sports to anatomy. It is an excellent way of improving one’s Hebrew (although of course, there are no verbs, few adjectives and no grammar at all!) and quite fascinating. An unusual present (I don’t know if it is available in the UK) and perfect for anyone who has always wanted to know the word in Hebrew for the various parts of a hairdryer or gothic cathedral.
